The output from Assignment 2 is the input for Assignment 4 so the two commands should be connected by a Pipe | a little Linux humor there.
Each of the Linux commands, options and arguments appear to be so simple, but they are not. Each command line is absolutely precise and will accept nothing but perfection. Guessing at this stuff will do you no good. It's a lot like trying to guess a combination of a safe or deciphering an encrypted code. You either know it or you don't.
More than once I found myself painted into a Linux corner. I learned that Ctrl C and Ctrl Z are good friends. Both commands will under different conditions terminate an unresponsive process and return the user to the command prompt $
Only by executing commands many times all while getting familiar with how the remote desktop responds can anybody even begin to learn Linux. This week I took my first baby steps. But I'll have to start walking a lot taller and faster if I hope to keep up. Oh, that reminds me the brief pause between a key stroke and the resulting display of a character on the remote desktop took a lot of getting used to, I'm not there yet.
